How old must most atlantic giant pumpkin get for the seeds to be fully developed? The seeds in a pumpkin that aborted between 20 and 30 days look normal size and I would like to keep them.

I'm growing a seed from a 302D30, which was 30 days old then stopped growing at an estimated 600 lbs. plant and kin are currently doing fine.

Once they are dry you will know or will have a good idea if they are viable if full and complete throw some in some soil and try to germinate them if they pop your good if not throw them away

Hobbit do you know how long the seeds stayed in the pumpkin before they were harvested. wondering if that made a difference.

Sandkin, Good question, all I know is it stopped growing at day 30 and it was culled on day 36. I don't know how much longer the pumpkin stayed intact before the seeds were harvested. John Barlow was the grower. Parents were a 2145 X 2009.

I’ve successfully germinated and grown seeds from a 23 day old pumpkin. The pumpkin was culled at d23 but seeds were not harvested for several days later, would have to look up how many days that was. I did remove the entire shell before germination.

Old thread but thought I would add: time-to-maturity of the seeds seems to be affected by temperature, and the seeds do continue to mature inside the pumpkin after harvest.

...Seems that way anyhow based upon the ones I’ve pulled seeds from.
