So I've noticed on one of my plants that the pumpkin gains have really dropped off. However, vine growth has really increased. The last corner of my patch was empty then all of a sudden its full. I terminated last vines today. Only thing left is the main which is growing rapidly now. Plant receives same water and ferts as my other plant.

Any way to get the fruit gains back on track instead of salad gains?

I would think that terminating those last vines should help..

Dan,sounds like it may be aborting if the plant took off again. Especially if the fruit is less than 50 days old.keep the plant evenly watered and time will tell

Good answer Porkchop. If you have enough plant, cut all secondaries, and grow giants.

Dan,they should slow down around day 50,at least they do in my climate. But they shouldn't slow to a crawl. If you were getting 30/day then low 20,s would be normal. If suddenly your down to 5 pounds then something bad is happening. Its why I don't measure but weekly(at the most)-too easy to mess with myself-I measure to make sure theyre still healthy or not-the scale is the only legit measurement if you know what I mean
