I want to try growing a big pumpkin or big gourd next year.
We have had a garden for years and we grow pumpkins and squash among other things but wondered if there was someone within an hour or 2 hour drive that would like to show me their patch and give a new grower some pointers or tips.
it seems all the big pumpkins are grown far from where I live, will the giants not do well in Arkansas? thanks

mj, after weighoffs are done in the fall, watch this site for excellent quality seeds for the price of padded envelope & postage. Seed exchange board. WAY too may will be available. A lot of them will have had diaries througout the growing season, and pics of the pkn that the seeds came from. Your decision as to investigate or not. Welcome to the madness! Peace, Wayne

I would like to visit some pumpkin and gourd patches and even weigh offs if they are close. The plants on here are just amazing and the people have been very nice.
I thought I was growing a pretty good pumpkin but the pictures on here make me shake my head in wonder
I need some of those better seeds and then I need to do more work

I looked at your diary and I was really impressed with your cantaloupe. I had no idea that they got anywhere close to that big.
I guess if I keep looking at this site I will se a lot of other things I never suspected.

mj, KGPG weighoff is Sept 17 in Guston KY. I am a computer idiot, but thinking that if you click on a grower's name in his diary...a email addy shows up, if that grower decided to let it be known? I could be wrong? Peace, Wayne
