I'm growing a giant for the first time. The main vine is about 10 feet long; today I pollinated a flower and all is well, except:

the vines are striped green & yellow, not the leaves, just the vines themselves. The leaves are big & healthy! Would this indicate some sort of fertilizer is needed, or what? I've done a bit of fertilizing over the past few weeks.

Thanks.

I'm just dropping in here today to let you folks know that my one pollinated pumpkin now is approx. 5" in diameter. You have no idea how thrilled I am; I hope everything will be okay. I am a female, and this is like a pregnancy to me.

AG growing the THAT kind of substitute pregnancy for so many others...not limited to female growers.

Advantage: Baby doesn´t grow for 9 months, 3 months should be fine.
Disadvantage: Baby might get too big too early.
Advantage: You don´t need to give birth to that big baby.
Disadvantage: You still need to find a buggy of suitable size!
Advantage: In this case, a regular trailar and a pallet will also do.

Ha ha ha! If my "baby" is 50 pounds, I will be happy. Remember - this is my first try! I run out to the garden every morning to do an anxious inspection but I have to stop this, it's no good...
