If pumpkin plants are hardened off properly would they have little to no wilting leaves, if planted correctly?

Be sure to plant late in the day. They should be fine.

unfortunately there are times when no matter how well we think our plants are hardened off?,once they go into the ground there will many times be some transplant shock-no matter how careful we are.
the main thing is how do they look around ten days later?
this year we put out beautiful lush plants, a week later they looked like crap however, a couple weeks later? they were full circle and looking great.
it happens to the best of us at times.
the big key early in the season is
1.keep the plants a bit cooler on the real hot days
2.water/fertalize as needed (a little goes a long way)
3.keep warm at night.
