Anyone got anything impressive out there Really cold in my part of the woods, sitting at 444 taped, but still couldn't be happier. So how we doing?

444, I'd say that's awesome! We don't have anything close to that, but having fun anyway. Good luck to you and everybody out there for great numbers at the scales and big smiles on the kids faces!!!

Hopefully I will get one to the scales this year, so I dont know if you would still consider me a first time grower but I've got one that taped 412 lbs. this morning, that is a PB for me by 60 lbs. and we still have 43 days till weighoff...boy that seems like a long time to keep one cookin

I have around a 500, plant is struggling, it only put on about 70 last week, not ideal but I think it will be 600 in two more weeks, I made a major rookie mistake and planted too many. Next year will just grow one the right way instead of eight mediocre ones

I have one that just broke 300 pounds, and another that is over 200. Next year it will be better......I failed to understand the whole Christmas tree pattern in the beginning, so its a riot of leaves and vines. I planted 8 plants, 3 of them were AG, the other five were prize winners

Make a list of the things you did wrong, the things you want to do better next year. I have a running list that is now 4 years old. I still look back on that list before the season to make sure I didn't overlook something.

I planned on including that list in my diary so future first yearers can learn off our brilliance :)

I think the class of 2013 is looking pretty good :)

I second the making the list suggestion....I didnt take notes last year...or get a soil test specifically for giants..or keep track of what I fed it....i kinda flew by the seat of my pants....still doing the same this year but taking notes this time...sure is fun though...some day we will all get there....diligence and a little luck is all we need......
And last years notes....

Well I'm at about 23 days and measuring 83#. Still 90+degree days and 70+ degree nights here.

I will post my full experience under a different thread b/c I think it is kind of funny and surprising I got anything at all as a true first year grower.
