Anyone listening to the tape recordings of Trump? How will he get around those tapes? Do you believe the recordings are of a Trump impersonator? He never thought anyone would get to hear what he had to say to someone getting ready to write a book about him? He knew about the virus and how much damage it could do and how easily it was passed on and lied about it because he did not want to create a panic? Give me a break. He should have learned something from the "Grab Em" tape.

Sounded fine to me. I didn’t hear cnn tell me what to think about though. I was thinking...he shut country down after being impeached. A few short weeks after the WHO said it didn’t travel human to human. It seemed serious. First death, country closed...that’s pretty serious...no one else was closing...He was called racist while the crazies on the left were encouraging us to go hug people. He told us right from the get go it could be bad...told us about what a bad flu year looks like..kinda like this one....and for the record...if you listen to the tape, he mentions the women that “let you”..I’m assuming goldigger types..either way...it’s the one thing he apologized for. This guy has my vote 100%.

He knew as early as February 7 that the virus was airborne and transmitted that way, that it was way more deadly then then flu and that lots of people were gonna die.

At the same time and for months after that, he was telling you on tv that it was gonna go away and nothing special was going on. Then for months he down played like a common cold, gave you bad advice on not wearing face masks and failed to come up with a comprehensive federal plan and response.

Now you can hear him lie on tape, look at what he said to Woodward in interviews behind the scenes and what he told Americans citizens at the same time.

And STILL you try to cover for him and somehow make it sound right...LMAO. Some folks just want to be fooled.

I am not saying Trump is perfect, but the covid doom and gloom has turned out to be nothing but doom and gloom media hype. Their job is to separate you from your happiness, and thereby... sell you something you dont really want or need. That's their been their business model for 50 years. Look at the stats for my county!!! This is why schools are shut down??? Seriously?

F&T we dont need socialist collective punishment for a disease that has killed 3 people over 80 in my county and one person over seventy. That's the complete stats for the entire year here!!! Far more people are overdosing on drugs or their lives are going to shit in other ways... and kids deserve to be able to live not be forced to cater to 80 year olds who can't handle a mild illness. The big picture is that we can't cry wolf over and over. We ought to save our concerns for serious problems. Covid is not a serious problem. 2 million Americans die every year. Many die at far younger ages than 80. In terms of 'years of life lost' suicide, car accidents, and drug overdoses are bigger than covid. It just fits the empty headed anti-Trump agenda. Do you genuinely care about covid deaths... or are you just looking to smear Trump.

I don't need to smear Trump G.kins. He does a great job at that himself. If you examine his behavior. Check up on what he says or what he claims then its very clear that on many occasions he either: doesn't know what he is talking about, is trying to spin something, or is just plain lying. It doesn't take much research to discover and point out his lies. A six year old could do it.
There no need for the left to fabricate anything about Trump as he puts its all out there.
He knows (and counts on) that those who excuse his behavior and short comings have no interest in the truth. They like what he has to say better, no matter how preposterous or outrageous it maybe. The past 4 years have proven that.

I,m not surprised at the covid naysayers. We have people in this country who think 9/11 was a government hit, who think the moon landing was fake, who subscribe to QAnon, religious nuts, you name it. Needles to say there's a ripe history in this country of conspiracy theories.

So with all that, people denying or down playing covid is no big surprise. They are so caught up in the tribalism of our time that everything they hear and see is filtered through a partisan lens. Everything that doesn't come a conservative source is a left wing attempt to attack Trump.

See G.kins that's the beauty of freedom. Stupidity is perfectly legal and protected in the constitution.

Its really the big challenge of our time. Its not covid, fire arms or terrorism. Its the stupidity that comes from a society driven by tv, social media, and money combined with low quality education and tribalism. Put all those together and we arrive in:

The Trump era.

Gkins,

The first few months there was nothing, by now I know several people who have past due to covid. 5 of my staf members have contracted covid, as did either one or several of their family members. At work and in private.

I work in a retirement community with independent living people, long term care and recovery care and memory care.

We cant afford to act like its fake because we take care of people who are at a higher risk, the confined nature of community increases the chance of highly infectious to reek havoc in short amounts of time.

I'm sure that if it doesn't hit your directly and you cant see what it can do for yourself you could be lulled into a false sense of security. In to thinking it wasn't that bad.

All of that tough talk goes the window when a loved one, a friend or even an acquaintance dies.

So people who deny, who downplay, who take a risk with either their own or other peoples live by refusing to wear ppe, yes I think they are stupid. Their couldn't be more proof out there and still people politicize what should be clear cut position. protect yourself and others. lives are at stake.

The Trump administration's shitty response to Covid, the lacking comprehensive federal response, the blame game he played, the lack of responsibility he showed has caused thousands upon thousands more Americans to die then necessary.

"Trying to keep the nation calm" is a mere cover. Re-election and saving the economy was far more important to him.

And the stupidity is pervasive up to this day, but just like Trumps outrageous behavior people get numb and use to it. And what once was unacceptable now has become the new normal.

G. Kins, guess what? The sky really is falling. I really don't get why you and others don't get it. How many people need to die in our country? The reaction to what is actually taking place in our USA could not be more of a disappointment. Open your eyes. Open your ears. Use your head. Take a look at what is taking place. Soon 200,00 will have died. So many and so unnecessary. So sad. A neighbor otherwise healthy just passed from the virus. No funeral services. His wife has been disabled for years and no children to help her. Ask her if it is real.

if you think anyone could get rid of the virus without people getting sick and some dying, you are fooling yourself. I was in the hospital for 10 of 11 days, everyone wearing masks and I got it. What should Trump have done? Shut down everything? We still needed electricity, water, food. We need garbage pickup, fire protection. There is so much necessary that he couldn't shut down enough the make much of a reduction in the virus. So, should he have made it look so terrible that he did set off panics? I see a whole lot of he did this wrong, he did that wrong, but I don't see what should have been done. What would have stopped the virus without destroying the nation? How about the Cuomo plan; ship covid patients to nursing homes? What is the solution?

We are the solution. Trump told us two weeks after dr faucci said it was ok for young people to travel and go on cruise ships, that 2 million people could die. We , as a country shut down. We should be proud of that. Let’s hear it though. What would president Marv have said when?...Vice President Frank?....what would you have done and when?...and how would that have squared with what the “Medical professionals” were saying at the time......all TrASH....more trash....at least we’re not hearing about “old white men” this time around. Well done G Kins, you got Frank to reply twice without responding yourself. Someone struck a nerve.

As for me, I have three kids under eight, and this is a critical stage of their lives to be socializing. I don't want some hermit kids who can't make eye contact and stare at computers all day. Ok F&T I agree about protections for those who are at risk... how do you feel about Cuomo's ordering Covid patients back into nursing homes? It wasnt necessary to do that because the floating Navy hospital deployed to New York was never fully utilized, right? Well I've posted twice now also and I dont mean to bash anyone's genuine concerns. How seemingly smart, intelligent people have vastly different perceptions with the same information. Religion falls into the same category for me. Does anyone remember what went on in the early weeks of the pandemic? No toilet paper, stores running out of food. And that was with an effort to prevent a panic. What if Trump had made the virus look worse? Food riots, gasoline shortages, price gouging?

Remember 19 years ago today? The country was united against a common enemy. We sure didn't stay united, turned into candidate Hillary calling half the country deplorable. That division was well in place before Trump took office

I'm sorry Iowegian, sorry that you cant defend him. Sorry That there's no arguments left for you to explain away his jaw droppingly dumb and ignorant statements.
I'm sorry we have argue about a man who is so clearly out of his league in the white House and so out of place, that there is no day that goes by without him confirming that.
I'm sorry you and your fellow Trump supporters just cant handle that reality and have to resort to what Kelly Ann Conway called alternative facts and an alternative reality; where all he says is good and true. lol

What should have been done? What a question... first and for most we need somebody in charge who serves the country not himself. Somebody who is not concerned with twitter, not concerned with cable news, and someone not looking for constant adoration and praise. Nobody self centered who has no clue about every day Americans and their problems.

Somebody honest and forthcoming, supportive of his governors, somebody who would have put partisan politics aside to fight covid as one country, not as blue and red states. Somebody who would have stressed the importance of ppe's from day one up untill now, Somebody not concerned with themselves but somebody truly concerned about citizens. Not just about the stock market and re-election.
Somebody that would have initiated a comprehensive well thought out federal response based on what experts in their respective field recommended and coordinated the response nationally to make sure states would not be competing for the same equipment. From the get go. One message from everybody. Not a President going of script with insane brain farts.
A humble President burdened deeply by the loss of life under his leadership, not a cocky billionaire who just shrugs it off as somebody elses fault. Its disgusting.

Joe, worse then Trump? Joe has been serving this country longer then Trump has ran the family business. He doesn't lie as much as Trump, Doesn't brag like Trump, isn't selfish like Trump, knows the White House, knows capitol hill, knows the world and all its leaders, knows all the problems domestic and international. And unlike Trump can reach across the isle. He wont bring in shady right wing elements or Fox news personalities and wont embarrass the US like Trump has done on many occasions.

And Yes his covid response would have been better hands down, as he doesn't have that larger then life ego in his way like Trump has and he has something else that Trump doesnt have: empathy. The ability to relate to what someone is going through. Trump has to act, you can see and hear every word and move is fake. Biden is for real.

Conservative attempts to smear him are pathetic. There's nowhere near the dirt there was on Hillary and so Trumpers get nervous, because they know it was quite the shit show these last 4 years.

So just make up stuff about his cognitive abilities. Unfortunately, Donald "mini stroke" Trump is an old geezer himself, so those accusations ring hollow.

Take your word that Joe's covid response would have been better? How?

I am not trying to defend Trump. I an just looking for reasons why to vote for Biden. Lets see, he doesn't lie as much. Is that quantity or quality of lies? Put partisan politics aside to fight covid? He has been spouting partisan politics and nothing else, except for the gibberish when he cant string words into sentences.

Supportive if his governors. Like Cuomo who killed tens of thousands by forcing covid patients into nursing homes? Or the governors who let riots go on and on and on. The governors who want to cut the police. The governors who are pushing for red flag gun confiscation without due process. Governors who let convicts out of jail so they would have room for anyone who refused to go along with dictatorial covid orders.

He may have known the white house, world leaders at one time, but how much has he retained? Doesn't brag, unless it is bragging about leveraging taxpayer money given to Ukraine if they fire a prosecutor, the quid pro quo.

Sounds like good reasons to vote for anyone but Joe.

"What if Trump had made the virus look worse? Food riots, gasoline shortages, price gouging?" This is exactly right.

Trump is commander & chief of the armed forces of the United States. That's his primary role. He is not the head of the CDC. There was some debate about whether the military could possibly be helpful. But ultimately it was decided that the response should be civilian, with limited involvement of the National Guard in setting up some temporary hospitals. Dont you remember the CDC bungled the covid testing kits so testing was delayed by two weeks or more? So basically you are saying Trump failed to do someone else's job perfectly. The only discussion where Trumps competence matters is as commander & chief of the armed forces. The CDC bungled covid response and Trump did his best to help them clean up their huge frign do-nothing-helpful mess.

More than anything what Trump has ever said or done, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter in the least as compared to how the current trend in Democrat leadership would run this country. Attacking Trump is all you have. What Liberal city? What Liberal state? Which one of these would a Trump voter say, “Yeah, this is how I want to live”. Instead of blaming Trump, blame your party. Ninety-nine percent attacking Trump. That says a lot about your confidence in your Biden.

F&T, you can paint Trump as a doofus all you want. We can all do that. Anybody can do that. We are not blind or stupid. But try to do the impossible. Support a party that supports open borders and defunds police. Make sense of that. Support a party that supports a BLM corporation and all it stands for and makes me out to be a racist. Just try to support steps towards communism. You can’t. All you can do is say Trump said this, Trump said that. All Biden has to run on are scraps of recycled scandals.

Is 11k deaths from a virus a reason to completely collapse an economy of 331,000,000? Is it worth the skyrocketing depression and suicide rates? What long term effects will this have in the next generation of kids who aren’t socializing at all for months straight? I can state for a fact these kids are not learning up to their potential online from the ages of 5-10 that they would be in school. Spudder, on a personal level I have no problem with masks etc. it’s the physical and mental well being of my kids. Imagine back to elementary school and having to stay at home 7 days a week, never seeing any friends for 6 months now, and not getting much physical activity since all sports are cancelled. Now they are learning the building blocks or foundations of their education like reading, writing and basic math through Zoom calls on an IPad. The teachers are working their asses off, but it just isn’t happening at that age.

It’s on a county basis here too. I’m in a county with mask mandates, no school, sports etc. if I drive 5 minutes over the Missouri River, that county has kids back in school 5x a week, no mask laws, all sports including high school football being played etc. They have had no spike in cases and we are separated by a bridge over a river. Complete madness

That’s why many of us here have given up and now let the kids hang out, we bbq with others... it wasn’t the Covid trying to kill us.

Scott, maybe the reason that nobody disputed Frank's 20 volumes of facts is because they don't care about those facts. Trump supporters aren't looking for a traditional, dignified president who will travel the world, pass out our tax money, apologize for our success, and let them have our jobs. They want a President who puts America first. One who doesn't care if he offends world leaders by not passing out so much of our money. One who makes them live up to the commitments they made to provide for their own defense. One who insists on fair trade. One who isn't afraid to stand up to the media's non-stop attacks. One who is too rich to be bribed. One who does his best to keep his campaign promises.

The democrat's idea of a perfect president is exactly opposite of what they want. All the insults that get thrown at them will not change their minds. It just stiffens their resolve. But democrats just don't get it. Hillary called Trump supporters deplorable, and the democrats can't get that divisive strategy out of their closed minds.

So keep on with the insults, democrats. You will seal your fate as losers, again.

Luke whether its directly or indirectly if you die because of covid you die because of covid.

Its irrelevant whether its covid itself causing death or covid worsening an underlying condition with death as a result.

In both cases the diseased would have still been alive if there had been no covid, of if they had not been infected with covid.

We look through our own filter. Your's is that of a father worried about the education and development of his children. I get it.

There's kids that live in war zone's, kids that live in refugee camps, kids that have to start working before they are 10.

Your kids are being home schooled, or take classes online. They get to fish and take trips with daddy, are well fed, and well taken care off. Doesn't sound like you need worry to me.

Smallmouth, I completely agree with you on the importance of people of all ages learning face to face social skills. That just cannot be learned from having their faces glued to those devices.
Not much in the line of school sports until high school and even then only a couple. Most of our activity was outside playing, making up teams to play sports or having our own running races and other things, Organized ball did not even come to my community until I was 14. But we were never short of activities with no supervision to guide us.
And I think you are right about the wishy washy guidance governments all over the world are giving. Drives people nuts and a lot of times it just does not make sense( even here).
There will be no judgement from me and I do hope for the best for your kids.

Americans are culturally the worst at handling death. It just goes against the whole narrative that we are as important as we think we are. Maybe the handling of Covid will only get more bizarre and dystopian regardless of who is in power.

Scott, there are no facts that will get me to vote for a democrat. All you have to do is listen to them. 11 million illegals would get citizenship just for breaking our laws, and we will be expected to give them free health care. Democrat governors let criminals out of jail while they are planning to defund the police and disarm the honest citizens. And I don't want to hear the lie that no one wants to take our guns. Not only have Biden and Harris and wannabe gun czar Beto called for mandatory buybacks (another name for confiscation) but many democrat states have enacted red flag laws for confiscation without due process. They want to screw up our health system, which is working perfectly for me.They want the green screw deal that we can't afford. They are socialists and some are supporting the violent "protesters". The only viable alternative is Trump. So I will hold my nose and vote straight republican. I used to vote straight democrat, but they changed, for the worse.

Yes mandatory buybacks has led to an overbearing nanny police state in parts of Australia... Or so the alternative news says. Why give up your rights & your power? When you have no power... you get abused. Isnt that how this world works? Shouldnt we all want to be empowered?

Thanks Sub Gardener and Spudder, hoping the kids will be in school by late October so they can have a bit of normalcy. It’s much easier for older kids to do online, but it’s not a long term solution for anyone.

Frank & tina ,thank you for taking the time to post, Its nice to see that there is a few level headed people in the pumpkin cumminity . I personally know one fact for 100% sure, that is way back in early february when trump was often on many news stations including many neutral ones and i herd him say (un edited ) (un cut) saying how this would be no problem , it will be next to nothing, maybe a few people will die possibly a dozen or so, I thought at that time WOW how could he be saying this?? This is crazy, I just could not understand how he could be talking that way ? I thought even for him this is as stupid of a thing to be saying to the whole country ! & now look at where we are at ! He's never gave a good example of ware a mask , It really dont take much to figure that is one of the few things we can actually do to help ourselves & others ,And there calling us crazy !

Absolutely, Fissssh. That might be one explanation as to why the democrat party has yet to accept the result of the 2016 election.

If anyone can decipher what the hell Fisssh is saying, please let me know. I think he is writing in 3 languages at once.

"cumminity, herd"

Is that porn or Mandarin?
