Hi, just what I am sure is a very basic question, but something that I have not picked up on.
i see a lot where people say with there watering and fertilizing program that they fertilize say every second day and on the other days they do a drench
i am just trying to find out what is really happening here or what the terminology means.
I think I may have it worked out, but just like to ask to make sure.
Would I be correct in saying that when you are saying drenching or sometime root drenching, you are only just applying water and no fertilizer?

I get a tad confused when some say they they only water overhead and don't use drip lines, and then they mentioned that every second day they do a drench or root drench.

So for overhead watering, would this just mean that they add fertilizer every second day by means of overhead watering and then when they do a root drench it is just water only with maybe some fungicide?

Hoping someone can maybe help clear this very basic question up for me.
Thanks.

To me a drench would imply a heavier watering with the intention of applying something to the rootzone. Some growers might have more than one method of applying things and it may be unclear what exactly they are doing when they apply something. If its unclear then that would be something to ask that grower.
