Like most of my statements, this headline sounds like a contra-productive advice.
But look at that absolutely distorted bead of Ron Wallace´s 2009/12: they had to hold a banner in front of this monster fruit for the picture in the bp-homepage here, so we should not see the bulges on both sides.
No question: the Wallaces fought hook or by crook for their new world record in 2012.
Wallaces drench the soil with more nutrients then needed every week in the growing season, muck up their patches before and spray stinky growth enhancers at least every week.
Most of that fertilizing seeps into the ground water.
With so much fertilization giant pumpkins are optimally fattened golden calfs, but the world does not need that stupid excesses.

Yeah, basically: this is the capability of the 2009 when professionally fertilized!
A 1800er last week. Maybe it will gain weight in the second half of September, but it looks like a almost finished fruit.
Anyway, that´s best done work.
And the product is a world´s nicest AG!
That´s a pumpkin!

Ludwig..Why do you insist on putting down everything the Wallaces do? They just want to grow pumpkins and enjoy life,they like to help other growers do the same. What is your motivation for these slanderous attacks?..Are you aware that in some countries what your doing is illegal? Stalking people online will get you a few years in prison if your not careful. When you make accusations with no knowledge of the truth your leaving yourself wide open!

Disclaimer: I have never met the Wallaces nor have I ever grown any of their seeds!

If you can't leave them alone seek professional HELP!

i like eggs..i like over easy eggs..i like it when some of the runny yoke gets on my bacon a little bit and you don't notice it and it kinda surprises you a little and then your like this is kinda good and dunk some more bacon in it...i absolutely love to play kick ball, i have not played in years as i cant ever find a game to get in on.
I just got poison ivy for the 1st time in my 38 laps around the sun and let me tell you what, i have a new found respect for the ivy. The blistering and oozing an crazy swelling, you do not want to get this $%@& on you. Bad bad bad...

First of all Ludwig, you are a message board troll. Why I am bothering to respond is beyond me.

Its funny to me that you are heaping praise on plumberguy in that he's only posted twice to his diary. Now its a beauty of a pumpkin, and I am envious for sure. But what do you know about his growing methods? My guess is not much. For all you know, he's doing EXACTLY what Ron and Pap do.

And the irony that you point out the beauty of his fruit grown from the Wallace 2009 WR seed is thick.

I've had the pleasure of meeting both of these gentlemen and growing their seed. From where I sit, few have done more for the community than Pap and Ron.

If I were moderating this message board I would have banned you.

Ludwig, you have the potential for some good contributions, but stray in another direction and put down others that are more successful than you. That is a waste of any good talent that you may have and you lose any credibility, so you become a loner in front of your peers. You just want people to listen to you. Maybe that is a long standing pattern of yours in your life. Trying to raise your own esteem by lowering the esteem of others is simple psychology usually displayed by children but outgrown by most adults and it doesn't work here. It must of worked somewhere in your life otherwise you wouldn't do it.I take bits and pieces of these posts and try to grow the biggest pumpkin possible. I hope someday you can post something, I take it into consideration, and it helps me and others.
