This is the stuff I'm using. Keep in mind that it's a high carbon source so it can pull N from the plant. You'll want to incorporate it this time of year. I like their website though because I think it's got good info that's easy to read.

Wiz, I assume the kingsford and oxalic were used in conjunction with the irradiated boiler sand that had been soaked in the lactobacillus for the proper amount of time.

Right on.. I used the coalZ from my lobster bake... a fine mixture of pine beetle kill roasted to perfection.... then rapidly cooled in rare mile high air....to lock in the biofuel..... More to come

Biochar. Zeolite. Do they work? I don't know but like my results so far. In 2009, 2010, and 2011.... I put in 50 lbs of biochar" green " plus for each 750 sq ft growing spot. Its biochar inoculated with beneficials ass oilso they are packed into the porous tunnels. In 2010 I put 50 pounds of ZeoPro in each plot and 100 pounds per 750 sq ft plot of just regular zeolite in 2011.

I haven't added any since then but that totaled 150 lbs of both zeolite and biochar in each of my 3 spots in my backyard patch. There was lots of good compost added back then too. I turned a backyard clay and rock lawn into a rich crumbly rich black soil with a lot of added permanent porous microscopic structure. I like its ability to wick water laterally to avoid dry zones in soil along with the benefits of aiding beneficial with tons of cavernous surface area.

These products may not be for everyone. I have good drainage. I like them retaining my moisture in soil longer for consistency with high heat here and changing weather patterns. i also think they jack up the CEC and get the whole system of uptake cruising at a higher rate while also hanging on to ferts longer as they have the ability to hold them longer with less leaching which is good for me with the amount of misting/ watering I do heavily in our illinois heat..
