Who uses it? What are your results?

Just bought some calcium nitrate should come in the mail mid week. Any advice on how to apply it? I have heard just to drench a foot away from the stem of the plant and that will be plenty distance so I do not burn the roots accidently. Any other advice/ recommendations?
