Last season I used 50' of buried drip hose coiled around the stump of my pumpkin and along the main vine.
The stump started foaming sometime in July and everything began wilting. I cut off the water, uncovered more of the stump, and successfully saved the plant.
My timer was set for roughly 20min every 8hrs.
Question: is there a better way to water these giants, and how much H2O should they get in a day? (Normal temps/rainfall, etc)

On second thought, I bet this has been answered many times so don't worry about replying.

no problem answering that question, a lot of different answers for that one. I always check my soil with my hand before I water, if about 3 inches of the soil is damp or wet to the touch I simply do not water.
