When some growers buy mycorrhiza put it in the soil and then spread systemic fungicides by drench. Wouldn't it make more sense to just use contact fungicide. I dont think fungicides can tell the diffirence from good or bad fungus. I know this is a debated issue but don't you think if we tryed to kill less of the mycorrhiza we would get bigger pumpkins.

That is why I like that root sheild stuff that was at the seminar...It keeps the roots safe and is water soluble.

From talking to a expert of a company that sells RootShield wp, it definatly does ''not'' effect Mycorrhiza. Growers will put this right in with there Mycorrhiza when they are buring the vine.

               Brooks,
While researching prices on RootShield, I came across a product called Actinovate soluble, which is good for season-long control of pythium, phytopthera, rhizoctonia, and fusarium. Looks like I'm gonna have to contact the manufacturer for info on it's compatibility with mycor. I can't seem to find growers who know.
I found the product on BFG's website, accessed through bioworksinc.com. and at the bottom of the products page.
