I got the compost spread out, reverse tilled the whole patch again, and picked a cart load full of rocks out of the patch today by dusk. What beautiful weather we have in Berks County PA this week too bad I'm at work for 9 hours out of it. Seeds are doing well but I'm keeping the emphasis on the patch and not my puny seed leaves right now. I'm a little dismayed at the amount of clay that seems to be in the soil. This coupled with a few other things like rock frequency has made me re-think how to plant a little bit. In each of these four quadrants I'll plant one plant on opposite sides and eliminate the loser for a single large plant per square. Side note for next year- the Mennonites planted their tomato seedlings Sunday May 6 this year. They know what they're doing.
