This hobby has given me a lot. I've learned about agriculture/gardening, soil microbiology, statistics, and voodoo fertilizer regimens. I've experienced the struggles that make the highs all the more exhilarating. Most importantly, though, are the friends and acquaintances I've gained along the way. I promised to acknowledge them, and so I shall.
If it wasn't for giant pumpkins, I would never have met my dear friend Jordan. His humility is only paralleled by his kindness, and he's one of the most polite people I know. I find it rare to find folks around my age who display such genuine empathy for others, and that's one of many reasons that I wish I could be a little more like him. Without him, I'm honestly not sure that growing giant pumpkins would be as fun. I look forward to many, many shared years of continued friendship and pumpkin growing escapades.
