Losing two big pumpkins over the past couple weeks has taken some wind out of my sails. But I have been diligently moving forward tearing out plants, tilling, rolling up old drip tape, and planting cover crops. As I am busy doing my work, from time to time, I glance over at Fat Luka. Luka is ugly. He is fat. Compared to the bright orange Kinckerbocker, Luka looks like something from a bad Halloween movie that is meant to scare the bejesus out of you. OK, I will say it: a fat, ugly, pale pumpkin is hard to love.
