Three days ago I noticed that Hope's stem was starting to pull away from the vine ever so slightly. This morning it became clear that the growth of the pumpkin was starting to pull the stem away from the vine. Instead of needing to be pulled away from the vine because the shoulders were growing back into the vines, it appeared that the pumpkin needed to be pushed back toward the vine. This made no sense to me so I called Travis to see if he had any insight. Of course he did.
