AI Overview Here is the Ai statement again "Most apple trees are not self-fertile, meaning they require cross-pollination from another apple tree of a different variety to produce fruit. This is because most apple varieties are dioecious, which means they need pollen from another plant for pollination. While some varieties are monoecious and can self-pollinate, they still often produce a larger and more regular yield when cross-pollinated with a compatible variety." The mistake I see, is that the ai labelled an apple tree as dioecious, which it isn't!!! Apples have both male and female blossoms on the same plant. Which would make it monoecious. Pumpkins are technically monoecious as they have both male and female blossoms on the same plant. Although it is a different kind of monoecious plant than a tomato that has a perfect flower. Dioecious plants are really kind of rare. Think Holly, gingko, or cannabis. Anyways I guess my long winded point is that we need to be careful with ai and there still is a need to think independently. Just as I mentioned in the beginning of this rambling that I didn't trust the "experts" who propitiate the horticultural dogma". We have to be even more wary of AI which isn't even the same species as us! We share nothing in common with it. However it learns everything from us, all that knowledge is then added up and compiled and stored forever. LOL. Still not sure why it would think it had the authority to connect the dots that don't belong connected and spit out the knowledge that an apple is "dioecious". I am pretty sure it didn't get that from any reputable article. Or will the meaning of the word dioecious change? I have seen things like that happen too. If enough people start to use the error it becomes the new language.
