Pollinated 56 Ruthruff? butternut today... my first real attempt at a butternut and the last pollination for the year.

The 150 sq ft plant (in back) has been a total failure. I'm confused as to exactly why. Guessing calcium, zinc, phosphorus, and poor pollination. It has never produced good male blooms and the tertiary buds have been weak. I wouldn't mind if it grew a small pumpkin... but basically its looking like no pumpkin this year.

(The plant looks great... Based on the appearance of the plant, it looks like it should be cranking out 15 lbs/day! Its nice to look at but its an emtpy hull of a vehicle, equivalent to a Porsche with no engine.)
