700 sq ft x 3 inches = 175 cubic feet of water

175 cubic feet of water x 7.45 gallons per cubic ft = 1303 gallons of water.

Thats what I figure i need to bring my plant up to field capacity. I dug around and sure enough... while the plant is not wilting (its a tough old bird) the soil is at the wilting point.

So that's only 26 barrels of water filled nearly full or about 12 hours of irrigation... Oops, guess I havent been watering enough. Plant looks good, but the pumpkin growth is a bit on the dry side.
