Auxin experiment with the only vine past the pumpkin. It might cripple the pumpkin, or it might help draw resources forward, or both...? Ideally it would invigorate everything, the idea here being that the vine being vertical gets it to signal something positive to the rest of the plant, like 'woah come check this out, we might have something here...'
The stump has a lot of energy now that everything is terminated and the phosphorus is now becoming adequate. Its trying to push lots of new growth but Im keeping it under control. Its pretty clear the back 200 ft or so of the plant isnt contributing to the pumpkin.
