Didn't really post much this year on here but wanted to give an update with some photos. Lots of ups and downs. I grew 3 plants this year. Ended up letting my 150 sf entry's vines (1626 Gantner) run free as it was growing so well, I felt bad holding her back. And in the end, I'm glad I did as it was my only pumpkin to make it to a scale. The others went down on me throughout the season. :(
With that being said, we had a great time Sunday, Sept 29th at Wasson's Nursery Weigh-off in Fishers, IN. My Gantner 1626 x self ended up getting my goal of hitting 1000 lbs, and then some! It's now know as the 1148 Lengerich. It took 3rd place and got the HD award! 6% Heavy.
First place was Mark Goodman's new state record 1781 pumpkin. 17% heavy! Wow!
