Bit of a gory picture! Well its all over for the 1036 Perez fruit. The stem totally rotted off the vine. Cut it open and retrieved a good number of big seeds, over 400 and fully developed! Photo shows the stem rot, that had worked its way into the cavity, only just. It was beginning to juice up and smell, got seeds out just in time. Flesh around stem was 7" thick, about 4" the rest of the fruit. Seeds will be called 382 Boyton est 2005 - 1036 Perez x open. Will be a good seed as the only possible pollinators at the time also have very good genetics....
