The giant pumpkin season is coming up quick. I had ideas where I wanted to do a long gourd and a bushel gourd. I did not have the space so I was heading towards a long gourd since I could build a cheap trellis out of PVC pipe. I added up the money and I had enough but I forgot 1 thing. I forgot to add the sand! My soil gets compacted pretty easily in my pumpkin patch so sand will help my pumpkin patch. So I was deciding if I should toss the sand out or go with a trellis for a long gourd. I decited to forget about the long gourd this year. I want a big a** pumpkin. After a disapointing pumpkin year last year I want to put all my effert into the pumpkins. My goal this year is a 1500 Pound pumpkin but I will be happy with just getting a pumpkin to the scales. I believe I have what it takes!
