Let the games begin! Filed, soaked and in the paper towels now. This year's lineup. 1985 Miller, 282 Scherber and 1415 Scherber. Both of my kids are growing 1409 Millers which will be crossed with the 282 Scherber to do the closest cross you can make to a 2009 Wallace without having the real thing. With a little luck, maybe in will work out. Will self the 1415 Scherber. That will make it the four generation cross of the best line of genetics out there (1385 selfed = 1725 Harp. 1725 Harp that grew the 2009 selfed = 282 Scherber. 282 Scherber selfed = 1415 Scherber which was a pumpkin that probably would have been a new Colorado state record but the pumpkin went down 3 weeks before the weigh-off.
