OK, let't talk Dill rings!! You can see the slight, but obvious Dill ring, in about the middle of the pumpkin that spans 2 big ribs. Once the pumpkin was cut open, I can tell you that on the inside, opposite of the Dill rings...IS THE THICKEST PART OF THE PUMPKIN!!
This is not the first time, that I have seen Dill rings show on the outer part of the pumpkin and the flesh is the thickest portion....yes not always true...but for me it is almost always the case...
