The top three melons pose for a 2014 class photo. On the left is a 196 Bright '13, at 119 pounds. In the center is a 197 Bright '13 at 128 pounds, which was the blue ribbon winner at the Rogers County (OK) Fair. On the right is a 197 Bright '13, at 130 pounds, but was bug-scarred enough not to be the fair melon. All three ended at about 4% light on the chart, so that's a fairly consistent problem to isolate, hopefully. Combined weight of 377 pounds. Pie-in-the-sky goal for next year: one melon over 200 pounds, with the top three combining for 550 pounds. Reasonable goal for next year: top melon over 180 pounds, and top three combining for 500 pounds.
