And Its officially on. The 2009 Wallace is in the dirt intended for the Puyallup Fair. Also planted a 1000 Grenchik as a backup. The 2009 Wallace is the former world record holder and was the first pumpkin ever over 2000 pounds. It was the seed that was used to grow the current word record of 2032 pounds and was also the seed that was used to grow a damaged pumpkin in Europe that had an unofficial weight of 2328 pounds. Even though I received this seed from Ron and Pap Wallace for free, its pretty nerve wracking to be growing a seed that people have paid hundreds of dollars for. I will be on pins and needles until its out of the ground and I will be pretty bummed if something goes wrong.
