Here is the one that got away - the 112.5 LaRue field pumpkin crossed with the 88.5 Sherwood. It was closing in on the state record of 118 pounds, but went down to a blossom split after a brief rain the night before last. On my digital bathroom scale it weighed 117.5 pounds! It was only the second time I've grown a field pumpkin, and I can't wait to grow the seed from it next year. Also it looks as if one of my pumpkins is over 1000 pounds now! That will be good to get a new personal best and get over that 1000 pound hurdle finally. Go 1723 Marshall!
