Well, Jim and Jack burst my bubble this week, both letting me know that the actual WA state watermelon record is in excess of 200 lbs. AND....today I thought it somewhat odd that I've been able to move a supposedly 100+ pound melon. It turns out I looked at the chart wrong last week. Boo hoo! As far as I can tell, I looked up 155 (I'm guessing since it's the 155 Finders), which gave me an est of 109 pounds. Actually, it's total inches last week was 120....big difference! Today was measuring day, and it's total inches is 128, for an est of 63 pounds. At 10 pounds gain for the week we have a looooonnggg way to go for the state record! At this point, I think I'll be happy just to have a 100 pounder at the end of the season. Today is day 36; I don't know how long these things grow, but I'm hoping for another month.
