We cut the 1385 off today, its rock solid and tapes over 1130lbs. We had to cut it off a day early as it’s the only way we can get it ready for the Shepton mallet show, so we left long vines and they are in buckets of water. To be honest we think it’s a bit of a shame to cut a pumpkin off before it’s gets to its full potential but we do have a good reason to do so. The show is putting up a load of dosh if the winner beats the show record and if we can win it the money will go to our first GPC Niagara convention trip, which hopefully means we get to meet Joe in person to apologise for cutting it early. Stuart and I would expect any pumpkins left on the vine to put on about 150lbs to 200lbs in the last six weeks so that will give people an indication of how big it would have got.
