and here is the view they are getting through the fence of "it" at 397.5" ott and estimated at 1310 lbs on day 66. i always hoped that someday i would grow one that would top my street address. if it goes to the charts, then i am there. a long way before the weigh off though that is 36 days away. at only 7.3 lbs per day average over the last 3 days, what ever it does from here on out will not be much. still hoping it grows at least 2.5" more ott before it quits. this is why all the effort with the new makeshift greenhouse over the past 3 crappy, cloudy, 3 inches of rain, and barely 68 degree days. only 2.5" ott to reach the unthinkable 400" ott. she is cantaloping a little more and some sap bubbles and stretch marks are becoming more and more present and the nice color is fading a bit as more little surface cracks of whitish color are showing up and fading the orange color. after emailing jason traylor, it occurred to me it might be a nice cross to cross the seeds from this one with his 1116 pumpkin cuz mine exploded out of the gates and slowly fizzled down the stretch, while his was a slow starter that didn't start gathering steam til later in the game and chugged impressively big time later on. might be weather related, but it was pretty damn cool here also the first half of this pumpkins life when it averaged 35.5 pounds a day from day 20 to day 45 and hit a stretch in the 40+ lbs for about 5 days. from day 27 to 32.
all in all, i can't complain a bit....except for this crap weather is junk!!!!
