Checked today and treated the rot with captan and some other compound given me by my local Gardening expert. Hope it works as the pumpkin has not grown in 2 days now , and I feel it may be at its end. But I,ll keep at it until all hope is gone. Feel strongly that Heat is my main shortfall. I can get great soil, all the added ingredients, but unless I can provide the heat necessary, then its only as a good runner-up I,ll ever be.
