here is the freak starting to turn a nice orange on day 45 and estimated at 752 lbs. (156.5-83-90 or ott 329.5) down to 19 lbs per day for the past 6 days in the warm weather means this one is on the decline. the stump has some issue from secondary shoot that grew directly into the ground under the stump and produced an aborted tennis ball size aborted white pumpkin that started emerging out of the soil. freakiest thing i have ever seen. so i chopped out gnarled up seconday and entwined pumpkin that was the size of a grapefruit combined. i let it air out and put captan on it, but some rot from an underneath fissure made its way into the stump. this all happened last week. today it is progressively getting worse. i am not that concerned cuz there is still a lot of plant in front of the stump to keep feeding the "freak". hoping for anything over 1000 with this one, and then hoping the 20 plus heavy genetics pushes it into the high 1100 or low 1200s.
