I dug up some soil today to check the soil moisture. As you can see, the wheat cover crop has an extensive root system. The fall added organic matter, mushroom compost and cow manure, seems to be decomposing. The earthworm population is thriving. Soil aggregation is looking good. I just don't want to work the ground if it is too wet. Letting the wheat grow with help dry it out.
