i have pollinated two flowers on the three plants, my 1734 was going really well, until it went ribbon, about 18 foot out, i was lucky enough to get one flower pollinated just before the ribbon vine, and then cut off the main. the vine started growing again, and looks good i have since pollinated one more on it. hope it works. the biggest fruit is on the 1734, about as big as a basketball. the others aren't far behind, and going well; after last seasons flooding i had a bit of earthworks done around the patch. drain along one side, and contour bank around the rest. i think it will work;

this is a photo of a 1139- laginess dmg, that alan sent me to grow. i really wanted it for display around our competition, because alan said it is very orange. i have 6 growing on this plant, all looking really good; this one measures/ 61 / 48 / 45; it was pollinated, 28th october. it is growing in a very ordinary patch, without much tlc.

check this fella out, i went into the chook house yesterday to collect the eggs. found him in one of the nest boxes curled up like this sleeping off a big lump in his belly, about the same size as a chook egg; i woke him up late yesterday afternoon, and put him in a bag, then took him up the back paddock near a dam, and let him go; he was a beautiful python, measuring 7 1/2 foot; i will possibly see him back soon

well;;; the ups and downs of growing giant pumpkins. i measured this fruit 2 days ago, doing a bit of cleaning up around the punkin patch, today, and seen this;;; we had a couple of storms in the last 2 days. i don't know whether it sucked too much water in or what. the fruit is covered from the weather with tarp and hail netting. i remember someone on this site saying "" if your not blowing them, your not growing them"" measured the fruit and it has put on 48 lbs in two days; oh well, i still have another couple; this was my 1734-steil;;;;;;;;;; my p.b. last season.

the trials of growing; today is the third day of hot days, and then storms in the afternoon. --37-c or 102 f ; the next couple of days are supposed to be hotter, and the powdery mildew is setting in. lets hope the wind stops, and it cools down soon. one good thing, the pub in town is air conditioned;;;
