Planted the 1306 and an 823 yesterday, the calendar said it was a good time.
I put the 1306 Jutras in hoop #1 with the heating cable.
In hoop #3 I put the best looking 823 Perry, which was difficult because they all looked good. Hoop #3 is in what I consider my prime garden and where the 1306 was grown last year that produced the 823. I have located this years seed in a different spot than the 1306 was grown in, but it will be basically be covering the same area. the soil back there is very sandy, loose, deep and well ammended.
At planting I incorporated a 40# bag of Bull country compost, micronized endomycorrhizal fungi, and the plant growth activator by "Organica" which contains various strains of BT. I then watered the two plants in with a light mixture of Tom's humic & fulvic acid blend and kelp, 2 gallons each plant.
I'm undecided as to what seed will go in hoop #2, hopefully the 1507 Jutras, but that seed is still not looking very promising.

SoySoap trials: Trying a new product in the gardens "soysoap". This new product claims to do some pretty amazing things.
We'll see.
Applied soysoap this morning to the 1507 Jutras, 595 James and 969 Jutras. Also to much of my garden and one row of competition tomatoes.
I'll be watching these plants closely for the next few days. If everything looks fine I'll be applying it to the oithers.
For the past two years now, the 1306 Jutras is far outperforming anything else.

My expected entry to the Reynoldburg Tomato Festival.
The variety is BelMonte, is taping at 23 inches in circumference and has the classic tomato shape. Pretty good looking for a Giant tomato. The tomato is just begining to turn red and should be looking pretty good by Thursday when it is to be delivered as an entry at the Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival.

Another Monster "expected to currently be over 3 pounds" on the same plant.
All growth on this plant has been terminated and this tomato has some growing to do. Once I remove the first monster I expect this one to get an extra push in weight gains.

I took the tomato to the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, Ohio State University Extension office and had it officially weighed in the presence of an AG agent.
When I weighed it I just threw the scale down and put the tomato on it.
When I took it to the county extension office I leveled out the scale prior to weighing the tomato.
The "Official" weight of the tomato is 4.83 pounds, which is even better. LOL

I am very happy with this kin. This was grown off of my own seed from last year the 823 Perry (1306 Jutras X 1450 Wallace). This pumpkin really surprised me when it went 14% heavy to charts at the OVGPG weigh-off. I had this fruit taping at 833 pounds. Dave Stelts asked me what it was gonna weigh just seconds before hitting the scale and I told him I was hoping for 850.
