On a previous pumpkin attempt, the fruit was forming at a very bad angle. **Note to self and other newbies -- pay attention to vine orientations all the time.**
So I made some pretty large rotations over several days and had it lined up nicely. The stem shows the rotation. The pumpkin aborted shortly after, and it coincided with the MKP application, so I think that is the cause rather than the vine twist. The vine and stem looked fine after the rearrangement.
I was sad to see this pumpkin go since it was the best start I had this year so far.
