Sunday, June 28 View Page 2,222 Godzilla put up some shade for the record heat wave this week. 100 plus degree weather 3 days in a row. Very heat sensitive plant hoping for the best. Polinated with a male flower from the 2,222 Godzilla which i was able to salvage a few male flowers unfortunately the 100 plus degree days fried the plant. Very heat sensitive plant. Here in NJ is hard to grow these giant pumpkins. I need to move way up North. I got something mixed going tho. Hope this next heat wave doesn't mess me all up. I got back up seeds already planted for the second half of the season. They seem to do better later in the season because of cooler weather since the east coast has warmer fall. Game on lets do it ?? Wednesday, July 15 View Page DAP 15. 150 Square feet feet plant. I did not burry any vines because the vines rot in high humidity in New Jersey so we just got basic vines shooting down. Its starting to crank. Got Big Moon genetics and 2,222 Godzilla Genetics. Takes the heat very well. Wednesday, July 22 View Page Peek a boo. Wednesday, July 22 View Page Dap 22. This one will be a September porch pumpkin. Got a few plants i transplanted for the second half of summer with cooler temperatures coming. Time to start all over again. I always love the second half of summer to grow punpkins here on the East Coast. Sunday, July 26 View Page DAP 26. Porch Pumpkin....haven't burried any vines no added fertilizers just plain gutter water and city water. Been mostly watering underneath not to much over head watering. Organic soil. Trying to maximize photosynthesis n have good quality leaves. Have been mixing some roof rain water with monster bloom have been micro watering around the stump and few feet above and below the main vine near the pumpkin 2 times a week. Im trying to keep this sport as cheap as I can. People say your nuts for growing and spending lots of money to grow a big fruit you cant eat. To each is own. Once i save up for fertilizers ill hope to beat the NJ state record which is less than 1700 lbs in the years to come:)
