I only lost one of the smaller Bott's Strain plants to the storm we had tonight. This variety seems to do very well in storms. I think it's because of the narrow growth habit. The leaves aren't as large and don't create as much wind resistance. Notice how much more narrow the Bott's Strain plants are from the Ripley's Giant sunflowers in the front.
