This answers a LOT of questions I had earlier when I started this experiment. Will the vine just rot, is there too much sunlight to produce roots, will the roots get too hot in the pipe etc etc. The answer is: the frickin roots loved the pipe full of dirt. Now we have new questions. Will this equate to bigger tomatoes, or more nutrients for growth, if you do this right next to the tomato will it get bigger than if you don't. What happens if I use the pipe to fertilize. This is fun!!!
