Transplanted the 1st round of pumpkin plants into larger pots today. 2350 Geinger, 1552 Young, & 1385.5 Howell/Jolivette.

Round 2 seedlings 4 out of 5 germinated. One has 3 cots. A 1028 Klowan. This is the 2nd seedling I have ever had that had 3 cots. Probably won't grow it, but we will see how it progresses.

2nd round pumpkins transplanted into bigger containers. 2 from my 88lb pumpkin from last year and a 907 Young. If the weather holds, will be planting in the patch in the next few days.

What a week. We had temps in the 80s all week and then freezing temps friday and saturday night. We have a couple more nights in the 30s and then a big warmup coming at the end of the week.

2350 Geinger has been in the patch for 1 week. The first leaf that was developing after transplant got burnt but, the rest of the plant is fine. Throwing its' main vine out now. This plant gets roughly 500 square feet of patch to grow in.

1552 Young has adjusted to the patch the fastest. It has the longest main vine. It really never slowed down at transplant. This plant gets 150 square feet to grow in.

907 Young is a week younger than the 2350 & 1552. It has adjusted well, just waiting for it to take off. 8 year old seed, it was a bit slow to go from the start. It gets about 400 square feet to grow in.

2nd patch location at my mom & dad's place. Planted a 1385.5 Howell/Jolivette & one of my 88 Grubbs. Also a 189 Wohlert watermelon. I will be putting in bushel gourds and field pumpkins also.

Long gourds are up! I have 2- 131" Tobeck & 3- 128.75" Ansems. I also started some field pumpkins and bushel gourds on the 30th. 2- 186 Nesbitt & 1- 167.5 Treece for field pumpkin. 2- 310 Marsh and 2- 248 New for bushel gourd.

2350 Geinger x 1552 Young is dap 20 & measures 178" OTT. This is the biggest dap 20 pumpkin I have ever had. Loving the shape and color. We are sticking with the tiger theme and named her "Tigress", from Kung Fu Panda.

Sunny is no more. Grower error. Genetics are good. Pumpkin was going to be a howard dill award contender in my opinion. She estimated 200lbs. And had alot of good viable seeds that I will test later on. So, 1552 Young x 907 Young becomes: 200est. Grubbs '22.

Tallest sunflowers I have ever grown. Unsupported and minimal care. Think I fertilized them maybe twice. The 2 taller ones are around 15 feet tall. Grown from the 23'3" Meck. The other is over 11 feet tall & grown from the 271" Butler.

Suzy (907 Young x 2350 Geinger) was at dap 50 yesterday. Estimating well over 400lbs. Her growth is slowing. Now around 10lbs per day. She has 34 days left to grow. I'm hoping the weather holds and doesn't cool off to quickly. Hoping she can make 600. She sure glows in the morning sun!

Fun day in Rapid City at the Great Downtown Pumpkin Festival! Suzy (907 Young x 2350 Geinger) went light. She weighed in at 451lbs. Finished in 4th place and won the Howard Dill award. My 4th one.
