It takes each and every one of us to make our ideas real. It seldom comes easy. Our process works because as individuals, we approach the idea differently, but together, we share a single vision. -from Disney Imagineering: A Behind the Dreams Look at Making the Magic Real

It's my second season living near Lake Huron and it's been another rotten season. Just like the last one. On 7/11 had a monster of a storm come through that knocked over our pine tree in the front and tore our yard up with 75 mph winds. It ended with a 15 minute hail storm that wiped my patch out. Then another storm, only slightly less as bad, but major hail again in mid-August. However, our mailman has been delivering in our area for 12 years and says he's never seen anything like the last two summers. I'm hoping they've been a fluke and starting next season, the weather will be as normal as he says it's always been. I lost my 886 Hebbs, my 1108 Pappas and my 949 Zoellner. Plus my small side patch of a 769 and a 583 Lombardi.

However, forgive the weeds because I gave-up some time ago, my 170 Rudolp (879 Zoellner x self) got a late set and amazing grew this pumpkin on only a 4 vine plant. The stem began to rot at the vine, so I had to cut it to try and save it.

I'm also getting this late set pumpkin from my 1290 Poirier selfed from a 5 vine plant. I need to thank Jeff Zoellner for the great orange seed stock he produced and Jason Traylor for helping me get the most weight I can from so few vines and so much hail damage!
