Lost my first line up yesterday. Started out cold and rainy so I left the green house shut and it turned sunny and hot. made a nice pumpkin plant soup. This has took a little joy out of this season but i do have backup's but not my first choice for pumpkin 841 turner but squash still looks good with a back up 1217 jarvis. but still a week now behind what I was hoping for.

Well I have been looking at my old diaries and I think I'm about 2 day's behind my average years in this garden. Disappointing as I wanted to be a week ahead so as to get a set on by july 1st. But on the plus side this is the best looking pumpkin plant I have ever had at this point in the garden. the first true leaf is large and sound with second leaf looking good so far and the plant is not leggy at all. My squash though are leggy with some leaf damage but sound. Unfortunaly my camera was put through the wash so I may not have any picks this year. :(

My pumpkins are still looking good but still a few day's behind last year. Today is the hottest so far and the plants are looking great without a sign of heat stress, which is a first as all previouse plants all showed heat stress in this kind of heat (a candle beside them is in a liquid state right now) As for my squash are all double vined. JARVIIISSSSS!!!!!!!

841 Turner is the most intersting Pumpkin/Squash plant in the world. As you can see when it thinks it wants to start growing it Likes to rev up to 16" tall. And when he's thirsty he Doesn't always drink beer, but when he does he perfers Dos equis.

Like any good trophy wife,it's good to get them young so you can start to train them they way you want them. She's a little young for me now but when she get's older she'll be just the way i like'm. As you can see she's also exotic not quit sure what color she is or will be. She's just 1" out of the growth head and will fall close to 12' and hopefully we will wed on the 8th.

well any chance for the top 3 at windsor is out for me now (not that I had much of a chance) As my pumpkin is aborting. and since my main vine exploided 2' after I will have to settle for a side vine fruit. Thankfully I did set one on the 12th at 10' main 3' side (selfed). It started out as a smaller fruit when in bloom than my main vine fruit but it has an even longer stock and much better shape. again though it has 5.5 lobes but more uniform with only the 1/2 lobe being right in the middle of the well formed blossum.

Well I'm so far behind now I pulled out all the stops I've deadheaded all vines but one Just behind crack head. Also I've pulled The Jarvis Squash as either it was deseied or Defficient in something and since bothe plants were back to back I hope to gain a little momentuim. I was playing it safe till now. But the time for playing safe is long past for me now. aaahhhhahahhhahhahhahaahhahah

well this is nothing but thought I would record it anyway. I set a 5 lobe 1' main 10' side 6' side side. The amount of splits in this vine would make a triage doctor sick to his stomack to look at it. But this is the last thing I could possibly set. Hopefully the split vines will stop this pumpkin from splitting.
