Growing 4 competition sized plants this year. Choices to make ... I think I know what I'm going with! Best of luck to everyone this year!

Accidentally posted twice, editing to ask the question.... which 4 seeds would you all choose if you had to?

YouTube a link to a video of my entire 2024 season crunched down into an under 10 minute video, if you're bored and in the mood for some winter pumpkin content.

Happy Valentine's Day! Test starts got some big ol' cotyleydons. Playing around with some new stuff this year and appears to be showing some good results.

Roots on a plant 7 days after popping out of the soil. I might plant them outdoors younger this season.

Soil test from last year in the spot that grew the 1853. I said it was rough, lol. Hope this years results are friendlier.

Day 6 since breaching soil on the 2nd round of test plants. In the first round, my light was too bright. Adding a white dress shirt to block some of that light has helped a bunch with color. Little bit leggier this time but I'll get that fixed in round 3 (hopefully)

Janky set-up, but it works.

Getting some natural light. One 2560 is decently behind the rest, but I think it will be okay.

In the ground, nice and toasty inside this inner hoophouse.

Woke up to about an inch of snow outside the hoops today

Saturday, April 12 View Page
The majority of the snow melted by the afternoon, which gave me a good opportunity to start spreading some azomite.

Cold & cloudy weather sucks but overall the plants seem to enjoy being outside vs crammed in my little grow tent.

5.6 Bennett Eggplants, all ethylene treated at seed start. Some residual humic acid on the leaves because of some sloppy watering..oops. I'm pleasantly surprised how easy going these plants are to grow!

Took Noah into the patch today and showed him the greenhouses. He was having a blast in there, super curious about the lights and plants. I smell a future pumpkin grower!

16 days from seed start and 14 from germination. Some funny looking 2nd leaves here and there, I believe due to some products I've applied that can mess with hormones (my pumpkins are all ethylene treated seeds as well as using some strong biological products). Week 2 in the books!

Figured the best companion plant for an eggplant is another eggplant. Four 5.6 Bennett's in 150 gallons.

The 2465s didn't take as well to the ethylene + tryptophan seed priming as the other genetics, but are starting to outgrow their funk.

The 2670 and 2177 fords should be laying down here shortly.

Eggplants overall are loving the big communal fabric pot. I built a mini hoop house over the whole thing to keep it warm at night.
