Look out the state of Rhode Island has been a force in New England this year! Steven Sperry took the top spot with his 1253 pounder (1068 Wallace x 1180 Daletas)! Fred Macari took second with his 1173.4 (500 Wallace x 1058 Houghton). Congratulations to the state of RI for a strong season in 2004! Also, congratulations to Bill Hopkins for his 1170.6 third place finish. Bill has now grown pumpkins over 1000 pounds two seasons in a row. With 19 pumpkins over 1000 pounds the Topsfield Fair is getting REALLY competitive! Get this, 50th place was over 700 pounds!
