Why... Because they are not on the fake meat bandwagon? Because franchisees own more of the company/ earn more than Wall Street does? They support non wall street potato beef and chicken farmers? Because its an American company? Family friendly? National Public Radio is not any more public or national than the Federal Reserve is Federal. They unamerican wolves dressed as sheep... imho.

McDonalds... And yeah I dont like fast food but the folks at NPR make 500000 per year for part time jobs they have probably never lived somewhere where amongst the available choices, McDonalds aint the worst. You can get 100% Real honey as a dipping sauce... If you have kids and no better options then thats one healtiy item, anyhow. NPR is wall street/ liberal fat cat$.

Nice rant, even though I disagree at times, I enjoy your posts. How boring would this world be if we all agreed on everything? BTW, my kids and I enjoy McDs once every couple of weeks especially when the wife travels for work.

To me, NPR seems to be a bunch of strongly left-leaning, socialist, intellectual snobs. But that is just my opinion.

I quit going to McDonald's several weeks ago. The one I went to the most had such a strong, rancid grease smell at the dive-up window that I made several complaints on the online survey on the receipt. I know a lot of people were complaining, and they did clean it up. Then I bought a couple of McDouble sandwiches and when I got to my destination, I found they had no meat. I took them back, they replaced them without an apology, and I heard one employee telling another that the manager was the reason she was quitting. That time, I phoned in a complaint, left a message and told them not to call me about it, I was fed up with them. 24 hours later they called me. That did not go over well with me. I haven't been back to one of them since then. It is what I call democratic capitalism. I vote with my money. McDonald's doesn't get my vote. Burger King or Popeye's get the votes now.

The University of Washington analyzed the contents of "fake meat", and even if purchased from the grocery store and taken home and prepared, is basically over-processed soybeans, and is worse for a person's health to consume than actual meat due to all the preservatives and whatnot in there.

I'm all like, "Whatever" in this brave new world so I can have a laugh about it, at least.

Fake meat is probably the stupidest idea I have ever heard. Soybeans are terribly hard on sloping land. They loosen the soil, take a long time to grow a canopy to shelter soil from rain and leave very little residue on the surface. Unless your land is very flat, erosion is greatly increased. But cattle do great when fed grass and alfalfa that protect soil. They do great when fed corn. Much better for the soil. With proper grazing management and manure handling, there is less water pollution than sediment from eroded soil. But the environmentalist bunny hugging whackos that don't understand reality think that we all need to eat soybeans. They must have forgotten that most of our soybeans are grown with the Roundup that they hate. Add that to the virus insanity and I really think that our biggest pandemic is stupidity.

Yep. Soy is not the best protein and for many of us it may be one factor in physical and cognitive decline. The asian culture knows how to break it into healthy amino acids. We should not be eating it... I think its mildly toxic and to be fully healthy products with soy cant be eaten at every meal.

Yep. Its 40% fake... It wont kill you though.

Their honey is good. Thats the opinion of someone who has kept bees for a long time.

Real food is hard to find.

Real food is increasingly becoming a DIY project.
