This large multi-headed sunflower self sowed in early April. It is most likely a cross between some tall wild sunflowers and a large multi-headed sunflower. What is unique with this sunflower is how dense the foliage. Originally, it had large sweeping branches from the base all away around the plant. Most of those base branches broke in a severe thunderstorm. You can see one about 8 feet on the left of the plant.
