Another hot day. It's been an abnormally hot fall so far. We picked the pumpkins at the farm today. The comment kept coming up that we always used to do this freezing our butts off. Today, we were sweating.

I had quite a scare tonight. We used the lifting ring and we had the 1011 pumpkin just about above the pallet on the trailer, when the knot on the rope slipped and down it came. There was some superficial damage to a bit of the skin and the stem snapped off, but that was about it. The crowd watching was quite scared that the pumpkin could have been damaged, or the trailer could have been hurt. No one seemed to care that this massive piece of pumpkin flesh could have crashed on ME! Thanks guys. We hoisted it back up, checked underneath, and repositioned it.
