To top it off, Steve comes over with his lovely 9 year old daughter for a patch inspection (and of course a quick beer) and she says "Wow Daddy, this one is way bigger than ours" and Steve quips back "hey, your growing another grub this year."
Well, I am happy to say that the 1142 is still gaining good inches every day and is even starting to show some colour now as well. There may be a little green there on the blossom end but the nice shiny yellow skin is also starting to show some orange...we will see what it looks like come weigh-off time...don't really care as long as it weighs heavy.
Love the latest diary from Dave Pley aka pumpkinpley...he looks to have a beauty and will give the Island Bozy a run for the money again this year....great job Dave!!
